Wannacry.

This malware is a type of trojan virus called “ransomware.” As the name suggests, the virus in effect holds the infected computer hostage and demands that the victim pay a ransom in order to regain access to the files on his or her computer.

Computers of this day and age has become vital for the everyday grind.Even if you forget this, your computer never forgets. This vitality of the digital age to store and retrieve data at our will also has it’s pros and cons.
The advantages seem endless the moment you wake up to a programmed alarm on the phone to the efficiency of the transit system that gets you to the workplace.
But even these can be manipulated by a hooded hacker.Don’t worry if you wake up at the wrong time because the same virus that has effected your phone alarm may be shifting coordinates for a nuclear launch.
Even if the thought is scary enough.Such is the versatility of viruses today.
Cyber security firms such as fire eye, digital defence, cimcor and numerous others routinely monitor crimes over the internet and prepare a defensive stance. But these firms are in reality just contractors employed by corporations.
This is where organisations like NSA steps in,institutions whose credibility has lost it’s edge over the past few years.

This brings us to the question on Who can protect us from cyber crimes and other related threats if not by the government but then who protects the government?
