Should universities accept equal number of male and female students is a puzzling question as it has no correct answer. It is because education is a dynamic and ever-evolving aspect of human lives.
Roughly 50 years ago, women could not even think of the rights that they have today.Surely educating women has helped the households they support and the economy as a whole, but are we at a point where equal number of male//female students an ideal setting?
When I was in m 11th grade ,I’ve seen students opting a variety of subjects for their studies .One of the aspects that stood out was that the computer science combination class had only two girls while the science-theatre class had the most females.
This may be due to tastes and preferences, but I suspect that the economic setup plays a major role.A computer science student may have to prove herself in a very competitive job market whereas students pursuing a wide variety of subjects and trying out new combinations would become pioneers in their field of choice.
The way society views what a male/female should do for a living is fast blurring.Times have gone when women faced restriction on what to study ,when to study and what jobs to apply for as they are proving themselves at par with the achievements made by their counterparts.
It is just a matter of time when we can see equal number of male and female students in universities better yet in all walks of life.
